Heavy Maintenance Of Apartments

There are apartments where basic utilities are provided like security, workmen to maintain common areas, electricity provided to common areas, elevators and pumps, water provided from either corporation or borewell. The cost of maintaining them needs to be shared by the apartment owners. The charges are calculated and levied on the basis of sq.ft. of the apartment area owned. The cost is approximately Rs.1 to Rs.1.5 per sq. ft. Thus, monthly maintenance charge works out to Rs. 1,000 for an ordinary apartment measuring 1,000 sq. ft. High-end apartments today are vying with each other to offer a range of additional amenities: swimming pool; facilities to play squash, tennis, badminton, etc; club house consisting of gymnasium, steam bath, sauna and jacuzzi; amphitheatre; multipurpose hall; supermarket and so on. The maintenance of all these facilities also needs to be shared by apartment owners. Currently, the charges range from Rs. 2 to Rs. 3 per sq. ft.
